Celsius Flavours Ranked: Which Vibe Should You Buy?
Dela
Citron Lime is our pick of the Celsius range: the sharpest and cleanest of the six, and the one that holds up best when you are drinking it to get through something. Strawberry Lemonade is the most approachable, Peach Vibe the softest, and the remaining Vibe cans sit at the sweeter end. All six carry 200 mg of caffeine per 330 ml can, the highest in our range.
The six Celsius flavours we stock
Every can is 330 ml, carbonated, sugar-free and vegan, with 200 mg of caffeine. The only real variable is the flavour, so this table is about taste direction and use rather than numbers.
| Flavour | Container | Caffeine | Sugar | Flavour direction | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citron Lime | 330 ml can | 200 mg | Sugar-free | Sharp citrus, dry finish | Pre-workout, long shifts |
| Strawberry Lemonade | 330 ml can | 200 mg | Sugar-free | Sweet with a citrus edge | First Celsius can |
| Peach Vibe | 330 ml can | 200 mg | Sugar-free | Soft stone fruit, low acidity | Repeat drinking at a desk |
| Astro Vibe | 330 ml can | 200 mg | Sugar-free | Mixed fruit, moderate sweetness | Variety in a mixed tray |
| Galaxy Vibe | 330 ml can | 200 mg | Sugar-free | Sweet, confectionery-leaning | Those who find citrus harsh |
| Retro Vibe | 330 ml can | 200 mg | Sugar-free | The sweetest of the six | Switching from a sugary drink |
What does "Vibe" mean in Celsius flavour names?
Vibe is a naming style, not an ingredient or a separate product line. Celsius names several of its sparkling cans after a mood or a colour rather than a fruit, so Retro Vibe, Galaxy Vibe and Astro Vibe tell you nothing about what is inside, while Peach Vibe does. The two cans without the Vibe suffix, Strawberry Lemonade and Citron Lime, are named plainly and are exactly what they say. The practical advice is simple: for the abstract Vibe names, read the flavour description printed on the can, because the name will not tell you and the blends can differ between markets. The specification behind all six is the same, which is covered in our explainer on what Celsius is.
Which Celsius flavour is the best?
Citron Lime, on our view, with Strawberry Lemonade close behind. Here is the full ranking and the reasoning.
- Citron Lime — the driest and sharpest can in the range. The citrus bite cuts through the slight sweetener note that every sugar-free energy drink has, and the finish stays clean, so it does not become cloying over a full can. It is the one we restock most often and the one we would put in a mixed pallet first.
- Strawberry Lemonade — sweeter, rounder and the easiest introduction to Celsius. The lemonade side keeps it from turning syrupy, which is what separates it from the sweeter Vibe cans. If you are buying for someone else, this is the safe choice.
- Peach Vibe — soft stone fruit with the lowest acidity of the six. That makes it the most comfortable can to drink repeatedly at a desk, though it is also the least interesting if you want your energy drink to taste of something definite.
- Astro Vibe — a mixed-fruit can of moderate sweetness, well balanced but harder to describe than the first three. It sells steadily as part of a mixed tray rather than as anyone's standing order.
- Galaxy Vibe — sweeter and more confectionery in character, with a longer aftertaste. Good if you find citrus drinks harsh, less good if you drink more than one can in a day.
- Retro Vibe — the sweetest of the six and the most polarising. Worth trying if you are coming straight off sugary energy drinks, because it asks the least of your palate, but it is the can customers are least likely to reorder.
Does Celsius have the most caffeine of any drink in our range?
Yes. At 200 mg per 330 ml can, Celsius is the strongest drink we sell. For comparison, NOCCO and Latitude 65 both contain 180 mg per 330 ml can, a 500 ml Monster works out at roughly 160 mg, and a 250 ml Red Bull contains 80 mg. Vitamin Well Awake, at 75 mg per 500 ml bottle, is the mildest caffeinated drink in the range. The gap matters most in the smallest can: Celsius delivers more caffeine than a Monster in two thirds of the volume, so it is quick to drink and easy to underestimate. For a direct comparison against a BCAA drink before training, see NOCCO vs Celsius as a pre-workout.
Who is Celsius for, and who should pick something milder?
Celsius suits people who already drink coffee or energy drinks daily and want a single, strong, sugar-free can. It works well before training, on a long shift or on a drive where you want one can rather than three. It is a poor choice for anyone sensitive to caffeine, anyone drinking energy drinks for the taste rather than the effect, and anyone who wants something to sip through a whole afternoon, because 200 mg in a 330 ml can is a lot of caffeine in a short serving.
If that describes you, step down rather than skip the category. A 250 ml Red Bull at 80 mg is less than half the dose. Vitamin Well Awake, at 75 mg in a 500 ml still bottle, spreads a small amount of caffeine over a much larger volume, and most other Vitamin Well variants are caffeine-free altogether. The wider energy drink range sits between those extremes.
Is Celsius sugar-free and vegan?
Yes to both, across all six flavours. Celsius is sugar-free, vegan and carbonated, and alongside the caffeine it contains guarana, green tea extract, ginger extract, taurine and glucuronolactone, plus vitamin C and B vitamins. Because it exceeds 150 mg of caffeine per litre, it carries the EU statement "High caffeine content. Not recommended for children or pregnant or breast-feeding women" under Regulation 1169/2011. That applies to the sugar-free formulation exactly as it does to any sugared energy drink, since the warning is about caffeine concentration rather than sugar.
Best for…
- Pre-workout: Citron Lime. Dry, sharp, and 200 mg in a can you can finish before you start.
- A long drive: Citron Lime or Strawberry Lemonade, with water alongside.
- A first Celsius: Strawberry Lemonade. The most forgiving flavour in the range.
- Desk work: Peach Vibe, for the low acidity, if 200 mg suits you at all.
- Coming off sugary energy drinks: Retro Vibe or Galaxy Vibe first, then move to the citrus cans.
- Resale in a gym: Citron Lime and Strawberry Lemonade as the fixed lines, with one Vibe can for variety. See the full Celsius collection.
Frequently asked questions
How much caffeine is in a can of Celsius?
Celsius contains 200 mg of caffeine per 330 ml can, the same in every flavour we stock. That is the highest caffeine content of any drink in our range, above NOCCO and Latitude 65 at 180 mg per can, a 500 ml Monster at roughly 160 mg, and a 250 ml Red Bull at 80 mg. Treat one can as a full dose.
Which Celsius flavour should I buy first?
Strawberry Lemonade if you want the most approachable option, or Citron Lime if you prefer sharp, dry citrus. Those two are named plainly rather than with a Vibe name, so you know what you are getting. The sweeter Vibe cans, particularly Retro Vibe and Galaxy Vibe, are better as a second purchase once you know you like the base taste.
What is the difference between the Celsius Vibe flavours?
Vibe is a naming convention rather than a separate line, so the cans share the same 330 ml format, 200 mg of caffeine and sugar-free formulation. The difference is taste only: Peach Vibe is the softest, Astro Vibe sits in the middle, and Galaxy Vibe and Retro Vibe are the sweetest. Because most Vibe names do not state a fruit, check the can.
Is Celsius suitable if I am sensitive to caffeine?
Probably not. At 200 mg per 330 ml can, Celsius is the strongest drink in our range and is hard to split across a day once opened. A 250 ml Red Bull at 80 mg, Vitamin Well Awake at 75 mg per 500 ml bottle, or one of the caffeine-free Vitamin Well variants is a better fit. Celsius is not recommended for children or pregnant or breast-feeding women.
Does Celsius contain sugar?
No. All six Celsius flavours we stock are sugar-free, and the range is vegan and carbonated. Alongside caffeine, the cans contain guarana, green tea extract, ginger extract, taurine and glucuronolactone, plus vitamin C and B vitamins. Sugar-free does not mean caffeine-free, and Celsius still carries the EU high-caffeine statement on the can.
Can I order mixed Celsius flavours?
Yes. Celsius can be ordered by the can, by the tray or by the pallet, and trays can be mixed across flavours. For shops and gyms, mixing a tray is the usual way to find out which flavours sell locally before setting up a repeat order on one or two lines.
